Wonder how this would do as an auxiliary SSD case on an ROG Ally Extreme? Thought about strapping one to the back on it.

I believe the price is higher do to it having power loss prevention. Not many enclosures offer that ability. However i have not seen any reviews that test that feature. So who knows if it actually works.

It's a hefty premium for plp. I understand double going price, but this is 3 times.

I got one of these on a similar sale a couple of weeks ago. I like it. It is more expensive, but it seems well-built. The display is nice for seeing the traffic stats, as well as the health of the drive. You can also set the disk to be read-only. Yes, it is a bit of a splurge, but you do actually get something for the extra money. Whether it is worth it is up to you.
