Does anyone know how the 12GB of memory is arranged for the N100 version? 12GB means there would be two modules, one 4GB and one 8GB. Since there is only one SODIMM slot, I'm guessing some of the memory is soldered onto the mobo. Does anyone know if the 4GB or 8GB is soldered?

It should be 8GB soldered and 4GB on the DIMM.

However, there are 12GB DDR5 modules and the N100 supports both DDR4 and 5.

So there's also the possibility that the description is wrong on being DDR4.

But information on this particular configuration is extremely limited, even on their website.

How do these mini PC processors stack up between N95, N100, N150? I would assume as they get to a larger number they are more powerful but I've read conflicting information to that during my research. Not looking for anything crazy powerful, just a simple task machine.

Edit.- I asked Google and got it's AI answer this time. Seems pretty much along what I was thinking the case was. Which one should you choose?N150: This is the best all-around choice. Its minor performance gains over the N100 are complemented by its excellent power efficiency. If price is equal, the N150 is the better buy.N100: The most popular of the three, the N100 offers the best balance of performance and power efficiency. It is the ideal choice for those prioritizing ultra-low power consumption, especially for fanless setups.N95: Only consider the N95 if it is significantly cheaper than the other two. Its higher power consumption doesn't translate to notably better CPU performance, and its integrated graphics are less capable than the N100 and N150.

I've read stories of malware on these Chinese mini PCs that can't be removed, even with a reinstall of Windows. Anyone have any experience with this??

Massively overblown.

There was an incident with one company that lazily used a premade Windows installation that had malware baked in.

They didn't even know it happened because, apparently, some of these tasks (like installing Windows to a million drives) are outsourced.

You can wipe the entire drive with a secure erase tool and reinstall Windows from scratch if you want to guarantee a fresh start.

It's actually much weirder, if you look at benchmarks across their whole lineup.

The N95 outperforms the N150 on certain arithmetic tasks, while the N97 can pull ahead of the N100 in certain areas and has a faster GPU.

The AI recommendation is right, in that you probably won't notice a difference beyond your electric bill (6W vs 15W, which probably equates to 30W vs 60W for the whole system).

But if you're trying to run a server, aim for the N150 and max out the memory. For Plex, go with the fastest GPU.
