Seems like a great deal for a new unit. I think I paid considerably more for a refurb L10s Ultra. At the time, the Roborock branded one was like $800.
It's been a year of daily torture in a house with 4 animals. No serious problems so far with frankly very poor maintenance.
Check/clean the docking basin periodically and just order cheap brushes/bags from whatever cheapo dropshipper has them lowest.
The detergent cartridges are a ripoff, I ordered some Tineco concentrated cleaner in a bottle and just pop the little cap off and refill the original cartridge that way. Refilled several times so far, no problems. Just ensure to get low foaming concentrated fluid.
I paid a little under $550 for a refurbished one last year. The vacuum motor went out last month. It ran ~350 times and cleaned ~280,000 sq ft before giving out. I had it vacuuming and mopping our 1700 sq ft home with no carpet or pets once a day 6x/week for a year.
When it worked, I loved it.
Nevertheless, I am not impressed with the durability. I wonder how people in larger homes with pets and carpets manage. Even at this price, I would like for them to last longer. Currently going through the warranty process with dreame.

how is this compared to roborock? if anyone used both?
I have two Dreame L10S Ultra Gen 2 and a slew of Roborocks.
The Dreame is like 90% of the equivalent Roborock in every conceivable way. The app is about 90% as good, the navigation, all of it. Even the cheapest of the cheap Roborock units, with LIDAR alone, do a better job navigating (by a small margin).
I like this unit, it's a PHENOMENAL value at $299 which is what I paid. While Roborock is technically better, these still do a great job cleaning my house
The gen 2 units have increased suction, but these gen 1 units have RGB cameras and can be remotely driven using said camera.

Same here. I loved it when it worked, but last month it suddenly wouldn't charge or respond at all. I went through multiple conversations with various areas of support and made sure to follow all the advice but still no improvement. I'm going to have to send it in for repairs and honestly worried based on previous people's experiences. They require you to pack and clean it a certain way but if they deem it not correctly packed/cleaned - they won't do the repair. They also seem to be a bit stricter on what is "user caused". They already let me know they will charge me repair fees if they deem anything to be my fault.
I bought a refurbished unit on eBay for $200 couple of months ago. It came with a broken pump and wouldn't suck up dirty water in the dirty water tank. This would cause flooding in the washboard every time I used the mopping functionality. I reached out to Dreame and they refused to take it back. I got my money back with the Allstate warranty that was included with it
Got this for $240 as certified refurb off the ebay deal which came with 2 year Allstate warranty. Have 2 of them, one for each floor. It's a workhorse and cleans very well for what it is. Got a few more for family members and they're going strong as well. I've read their support is not that great if something goes wrong, as is with many of these vacuum makers but Allstate made it worth it. I have mostly wood floors and some area rugs and it has zero issues with all but one. The only place it does have issues is the one super shaggy area rug I have where even a standard vacuum and my dyson v10 struggle and get strands caught. With a lack of experience in dealing with their support, based on my experience so far, I would 100% recommend this device.

Get a warranty is my suggestion.

This guy will pick up AA batteries.
I have 3 or 4 area rugs in the main floor and I had to get rid of them to use it.
Other than that, I think it is OK to have.
