I have this bike and am ordering two more. Super easy to assemble, well built, comes with everything you need besides a side view mirror. I have been ridding it to work daily. The pedal assist kicked in way too strong so I disconnected the PA cable and just use the throttle. I am 6'2" 200lbs and this things tops out at 26 MPH with me on it full throttle. The previous thread on this bike has so many people complaining about Ali express or other e-bikes so it's hard to read. If you are looking for a basic e-bike for an amazing price just buy this. If you don't like it you can probably sell it for $500 or more on Nextdoor after the 30 minutes it takes to assemble it.

This bike has an unbranded 500 watt motor with a 750 watt (16 amp x 48v) controller. With a fully charged battery it will put out 900 watts for a couple of minutes before the voltage drop giving them reason to call it a 1000w peak. Now saying that, this is a steal! I got a 20 ah battery and a battery equalizer and installed it in a bag on the rack, and have effectively countered the only weak spot in the bike...which is the silverfish battery...which does probably do 13 ah....but the voltage drop makes mine put out closer to 700 watts for more than 1/2 of the battery. I plan on changing the front fork to an air fork, and putting a 135mm/750 watt front motor with a dual 750 watt motor controller. Although total (20 ah battery, motor, fork, controller, and balancer) is 450 bucks...which is more than the bike, it will be an awesome 2000 watt peak (1500 rated) scooter with enuff torque to hall my big butt around for less than 800!
I also mentioned in the other thread that the controller and all the power and wiring is in an unsealed outlet box under the bike with two huge holes cut on the sides for the wires to get frayed on. Also, one big puddle could fill this box with water. I ordered rubber grommets for 5 bucks, and will install with a little silicone when they come in to seal them. I just wanted all of you to be aware since most of you won't realize rhis.
I feel this bike is the modern day equivalent of the classic red scooter. The pedals work for shorter people, but it's so heavy, it's really not realistic to equate it as a 'moutain bike'. I think it's meant for urban uses such as the guy on YouTube doing doordash.

I ordered my bike on 9-9-25, received 9-13-25. Package arrived in Austin, Texas in perfect condition (Fed-Ex), no blemishes. Bike was packed almost bomb-proof; very well padded.
All parts were included and arrived as described on the product page. The front and rear brake were calibrated correctly on arrival. The rear derailleur was also per-calibrated out of the box. Assembly involves mounting the handlebars, mounting the rear rack, attaching the front wheel, attaching front and rear lights, and affixing the pedals. The bike comes with all the tools required for assembly. Assembly took roughly 30-40 minutes on my front porch. The shifter and derailleur are branded Shimano parts.
The bike is quick! I weigh 200lbs (91kg) and the bike gets up to speed within 2-4 seconds on pedal assist setting 3. With a 200lb rider the bike seems to max out at 22 miles per hour on flat ground. The bike shifts easily through it's 7 pedal gears. At maximum speed you will not be able to add power to the bike with the pedals, you will be spinning the pedals or 'ghost pedaling' on pedal assist setting 3; even in the highest gear. This is true of basically all e-bikes that reach this speed.
I am 5'10" (178cm) and the bike fits me, but I feel I am toward the maximum height to ride comfortably. Exercise caution if you are > 6' tall.
I have not tested the range or charging speed yet.
The brakes work, but they are mechanical brakes. Exercise caution on a bike this heavy with mechanical brakes, because they do not stop the bike immediately. They slow down the bike and bring it to a gradual stop over a short distance.
If you order this bike you should immediately take action to weatherproof the controller. The controller is in a compartment beneath the battery. The wires that come out of this compartment are run through completely unsealed holes. These holes expose the very sensitive electronic controller to potential atmospheric dust and water. The compartment is also placed in a way that is likely to cause the rear wheel to splash puddle water into the wire hole. This repair should done IMMEDIATELY after you construct the bike. Leaving this hole unsealed will destroy your bike eventually.
Personally, I am in love with this quick little bike. It is an great value for the price. The quality of the frame and the overall care that was obviously put into it's production and shipping genuinely surprised me. I don't understand how they can sell such a well constructed bike, with a 13AH battery, and a powerful 750W motor for the price I paid. I guess economies of scale really produce wonders.

That's the review I would have left on ali-express if they allowed more than 1000 characters. I will have to whittle it down. Just wanted to share my experience with other slick-deals users. I am not affiliated with slick-deals or ali-express or urlife in any way. I hope this is helpful to anyone considering this deal.

Why do high performance motorcycles have twin discs at the front? Because at maximum braking force, all the weight shifts to the front tire. The maximum braking force is the coefficient of friction between the road and tire x weight of bike and rider.

This physics also applies to cars. The front disc brakes are always much bigger than the rear brakes. The front discs are always ventilated. Front pads last 50 to 70 percent shorter than rear pads due to the need to convert most of the kinetic energy to thermal energy.

Become a cop. Get free high performance driving lesson. In the meantime, practice straight line emergency stops on your bike, using only the front vs only the rear. It doesn't take much effort to lock the rear tire. A pro can modulate front brake pressure to the point where the rear wheel is barely touching the ground.
Great, doesn't defy physics. Go maximum force on your bike in a turn and slam on that front brake and tell me what happens.

A bike with a rider is significantly less than a car. Before disc brakes we had rim brakes, and coaster brakes. You make it sound like its impossible for you to stop without it. Im just saying for comfort riding, nobody is slamming on the front brake. You do your own however.

I'll take a rear slide over a front slide any day of the week.

"The average salary for a school counselor is $65,515 per year in Annapolis, MD." Did you front load the salary you quoted by an extra $300k on purpose or by accident?
Doesn't MD have a horrible performing school district? Especially in Annapolis and Baltimore?

DonV1962 believes that they pay guidance counselors "$365,000" a year there and all the overpaid school counselors are spending too much time at the local bicycle shops so to get back at them for the arrogance and elitism of school counselors everyone on here should boycott local businesses and buy e-bikes directly from China, I'm assuming to give bike rides to local school kids and help out the community with the extra time and money saved. I'm all for it! Damned bicycle shops and school counselors, we'll put them in their place one Ali Express purchase at a time. Feels so good.

In my area bikes are constantly stolen. My job has no bike rack or anywhere safe to store it.

I'm sure leaving it alone for work means it will be gone by the time I come back.

Annapolis is rated A+ with less than 50% of kids precinct at grade level. Baltimore is off the charts basically graduating kids not able to read or do math at all. News just broke that the have shadow kids to get more funding in town. They count kids on a one certain day supposedly to get allocated funds bust somehow 11,000 of them disappear and are classified as "whereabouts" unknown but the school still get the funding both state and federal that equates to 250 million state plus whatever federal gives.

But do keep all that off you mind but know if you buy a bike direct from China you are destroying the country

Look up the salaries in the Capital Gazette. page after page of six figures in all kind of bureaucratic niches including guidance administration which is still guidance counseling field.

Starting salary for guidance; In Anne Arundel County Public Schools, the average annual salary for a School Counselor is approximately $75,724 as of late 2024

The system has a 1.7 billion dollar budget and less than half the students are at grade level. Achievement gap between black and white has widened. Once in bureaucrats know how to play the game and they get the salaries up. Teachers do not have the opportunities for pay that the back office paper pushers get.

Why should anybody on SD care about your axes to grind about your community and your bad experience with a bicycle shop? Good job generating a bunch of text. Enjoy the bottom!

So you're the kiddie Schwinn coaster brake bicyclist. No problem. One one these days, you'll learn how to modulate the front brake and get your motorcycle license. Until then, feel free to double check my teaching with any physics teacher/professor.

I tend to use both brakes evenly on this bike as since I've converted them to hydraulic, I'm afraid to break the front suspension as it twists with only that handle like brace on the fork, when I REALLY stop hard.

It's a marketing tool to give the illusion that the bike is off-road ready. I would spec a conventional Cr-Mo front fork with brazed drop-outs for better handling and braking at high speed. Probably 1.5 pound weight reduction. Most street road imperfections are absorbed by properly inflated tires (10% sidewall deflection with rider), not the front suspension.

Good cable brakes like those on a tandem can provide tremendous stopping power. The main advantage of disc brake is resistance to brake fade during steep decline. A cable operated disc brake with good mechanical advantage lever arms and high CoF (coefficient of friction) pads can easily flip a 250 lbs bicycle.

Motorcycle brakes must meet FMVSS No. 122 and UNECE Regulation No. 78. The best brake pads have HH CoF. There are too many things that can go wrong with a bicycle hydraulic brake system.
