I believe the drop referenced here is the heel-toe drop, the degree angle the shoe 'drops' from the back of your foot to the front, which could affect your running as you will be more angled forward (giving you more momentum/forward progress aid)

These are actually a great budget running shoe. They have some more premium qualities than most other shoes at this price point. For your 1-2 mile runs, I think they would be great. They have a 6.5mm drop, if that's something you're sensitive to.

Thanks man. I don't know what drop means. I only do casual running a few times a week. Not a marathon runner lol.

An oversimplified explanation:
Lower drop (0–2 mm): more load to ankle/Achilles/calf, usually encourages mid/forefoot strike.
Mid drop (4–8 mm): a middle ground; spreads load fairly evenly; accommodates varied strike patterns.
High drop (10–12+ mm): shifts load a bit up the chain to knee/hip, often suits a rearfoot strike.
6.5mm is a great starting point if you're just getting into running. The review of the previous version on RunRepeat looks pretty good.

I tried these from Amazon a couple months ago. They're fine for $36, but I wouldn't spend more. Just didn't feel very cushioned, but I am on the heavier side at 215lbs. I miss the days where we got flagship Sauconys and Brooks for like $50 shipped.

No, just a few years ago it was pretty common on here to find the previous models on clearance because they new ones had just launched. Doesn't really happen anymore sadly. I think my last pair were the Saucony Triumph 19s for about $55 shipped in 2022.
