MSRP? if so, that pretty much means nothing. 5080 was $1k MSRP and they never actually were available for that price until they discontinued production (which was a few days ago)

Worth holding out to see if they have better clearance as the Super's release?

Definitely waiting on the supers at this point... don't see a reason to buy now unless you really want an upgrade for upcoming releases

I bought a 5080 from BB, returned it 30 days later after not opening it fearing the same thing that the supers will lower the price of the 5080 lol.

one of these days you guys are going to realize that there aren't actually deals on video cards. you can certainly overpay but you're never going to get some great deal. even if you look at the used market. these things are commodities. what you pay directly translates to the performance you get. so if you're looking for best low cost value, it's probably a used 3080 @350 or the 5070 @550. this card would be great for someone who plays high refresh with decent graphic settings. if that's you. what else are you going to get for this money that is close? there is always something newer and better around the corner

This, if we want prices to fall we can't be willing keep buying them at current prices. That's the only way.

Gotta vote with your wallet

If (big if) you have a Microcenter nearby the 9070XT for $650 is the best deal you can get at the moment IMO. They have 50+ in stock in my area.

40 series never went on clearance. They're still charging full price or more. I don't think you'll see these go on sale.

I doubt it. the last time a refresh series lowered the value of the base series was 20 supers. This is only because AMD released a really high performance low price card like the 5700XT. It was equivalent performance to a 1080Ti for $400 (1080Ti was $650 on its release). So a 2070 price was way way too high and Nvidia had to drop the 2070 Super to $500 with the Ray Tracing as their premium. I don't think AMD has shifted value or prices (at least not that i know of) to make Nvidia release Supers at a lower price. Nvidia will try not to devalue previous gen or series cards as much as they can. I can see the Supers at best released for the same price as the regulars. I think the added VRAM will make Nvidia price these Supers as an added new product line to coincide selling regular 50 series. even if Nvidia is phasing off manufacturing of the regular 50 series.

It happened with the 4000 series
