Most of the HOKAs you see for $100 are (a) from the lower end of the brand, (b) models that didn't sell well due to poor pro reviews, or (c) a generation or two old. One notable exception was the Mach 6, and its low price was due to its relatively minimalist construction.

The Glycerin Max is a max cushion trainer, and max cushion trainers tend to be the most expensive non-plated shoes in any serious brand's lineup.

As for equivalents, the most similar HOKA to these would probably be the Bondi 9, but it's much more geared toward actual running than the Bondi 9, which has earned a reputation for catering to people who work on their feet as opposed to runners.

Standard. The Email discount almost never applies to anything decent.

I usually wear 2E and I was able to go a half size up and these were wide enough for me.

Are these the Brooks equivalent to Hokas?

I'm aware Brooks are decent shoes but $160 seems steep when Hoka routinely go on sale for $100ish.

Do these run small? I usually wear 9.5 or 10 for other brands but TrueFit is recommending 10.5

Tried some on last Sunday. I like them, but after putting on the Asics Nimbus 27, the Broooks were a distant second. Like other folks have said, you need to buy a size larger than what you actually wear. The size 12's I first put on were really tight, and my toes were at the very end of the shoe. Size 13's were much better.

Yes agree, these are more for serious running

I saw this deal and was tempted, but ultimately went with the Asics Megablast, which was only $168 with my veteran discount. I've never worn either, but the Megablast is supposed to be both engineered like and yet complementary to the Superblast 2, which I have absolutely loved.
