am i just not into high refresh? 500hz seems excessive when in certain benchmarks in cs2 can be around 600fps

this even practical to use frame gen in its current iterations?

or do people just lock their fps to 240-250fps?

For competitive shooters, there's definitely a difference between 240Hz and 500Hz. Everything just feels faster and more fluid. Diminishing returns for sure, but if you have the rig to push those frames, it's hard to play on anything else.

In non side by side testing professional FPS gamers can tell the difference in blind tests up to the 165-240hz range but are unable to accurately identify anything beyond that.
In direct side by side testing they are able to distinguish up to 360hz but unable to distinguish accurately beyond that so anything above the 350-400hz mark is pure placebo.

The average non-professional who doesn't competitively look at screens all day everyday is not able to distinguish anything beyond the 144-165hz range and even in tournament play this is by far the most used range.

I have the 360mhz version of this monitor. After tuning the colors, it's stunning. I agree with the other posters, most of us cannot visually see the difference at 240hz+.
That being said, I think the price of this monitor will go down over time for the above reason. It's a good price, but will be better in the future.
