I find this tempting because of the price but I'm sure the new "super zooms" by sigma and Tamron themselves will be better lenses than this one. I hear this one isn't super sharp at all the focal lengths, especially the telephoto. but I don't own this.
One note: Tamron just announced a successor that will be 25-200mm, presumably for about $800. Also, Sigma just announced a 20-200mm, but it's slower and likely has worse image quality.
For the money, you can't beat this.
But back on topic, if this is made for APSC and full frame, are these mm ratings for full frame and we can expect a crop factor equivalent of roughly 42-300mm for APSC?
Or is it going the other direction whereby the mm specs are for APSC and with full frame one would expect roughly 18-130mm? Judging from the numbers that to me seems the most likely scenario but I can't find anything definitive online.
