Bambu in full panic mode knowing these will be unsellable very soon. So much competition puts this to shame for the price.
Where is the competition now? I'm only aware of a few brands and don't have a great sense of the market.

I dont even like Bambu but this is completely false on every point.

Truth is almost all of the 3d print manufacturers have been chasing bambu for 3 years now. It took Creality (by far the biggest manufacturer) 3 years to make a multi color system (they call CFS) and it still isnt as good as the AMS 1. Same thing with Qidi, Flashforge, etc.

Saying these X1C machines will 'be unsellable' is laughable. The fact that they can still charge so much for this printer 3 years after launch is a testament to the brand. For example the K1C came out a year and a half ago for 560 and can be bought for around $250 now. This X1C launched at 1400 and is now 1100 when on sale.

Everything.............such as.....? Hell its 256x256x256 which is right in line with competition.

Look, I'm just gonna say it -- you're highly exaggerating right now, and Bambu doesnt have a ton of competition. You make this sound like a cut-throat industry. It's the opposite. Maybe tone that statement down a bit, because it's basically false.
Agreed. I think there's many competitive alternatives for some people now (depending on what you're looking for). But I think Bambu is still the market leader in many areas and will be for many for the time-being.

that's AMS 1 though
AMS 2 is worth it, even though it still has the same problems like not working with cardboards and jams when your roll is too empty or lightweight or your filament is not dry enough.
You can print rings to go around the cardboard spools. Otherwise you are right they don't do well in the AMS. Especially when the filament is running out making the spool lighter.

Just sold my P1P and AMS1... deciding between this combo or the H2S combo.... the H2S is just so huge (not a positive for me). Haha.

Guys, it's happening. I've been waiting for this deal ever since I missed their anniversary sale. Please help me with the starter package - what addons and filaments I must buy with the printer right now? This is my first ever 3D printer so assume no prior knowledge. Thanks you! I'm super pumped woot-woot

You dont really need anything extra other than a roll or two of filament. Get an idea of what you want to print, get the filament in those colors and go from there. It's easy to go nuts at first without really understanding what you need. Just get the printer, play with it, and grow your kit from there. Filament from Bambu is pretty pricey compared to other brands and they mostly print the same.

awesome - thanks for your input. can you recommend any filament from what's on sale now on SD? I've heard there are profiles for different filament manufacturers and such so I'm confused which one should I chose. also, it seems like the filament is also on sale on Bambu's site - Orange PLA 1Kg goes for ~$16.

Most major companies profiles come preloaded on the printer to select from (sunlu, esun, polymaker, overture) but theres a generic setting which works great. The general rule is to spent no more than $11/kg on filament, some people believe less but its up to you, my first rolls were like 22$ until i learned that lol. Just go on amazon and grab whats cheap. Your going to just print "upgrades" and stupid things you dont need in the begining anyway

I got it from Best buy for 999. the AMS 2 has a heater, but I already have a feeling heater and I have another feeling heater. I use those externally when I'm using filaments and cardboard rollers that do not work in the ams. so I have an AMS too doesn't necessarily give me the benefit of jumping through yet another hoop.. now this thing drops down to $700 within the next two months, I will jump through a hoop and replace it with another one. but we just kind of getting to a point where I'm happy with that. I would love to do the stop maker or the century carbon, but right now this one is very much proven and it just works. bamboo is already sending me some extra parts for the AMS and I have so much filament. I'm going to be satisfied with my deal.

with that said I did use some Polly maker TPU 95a and it got stuck in the exterior after printing out successfully a couple times. but the main issue was the feeling it being so wet and my apartment being so humid with the AC out. I've done everything in the past week too get the filament and all under control with dryers and a lot of desk and now the AMS is at it 9% and my filament storage is around 15 to 20. so all that's resolved now. the AMS heater would be nice, but I jump through anymore hoops to get it. but for anyone else, this is a solid deal to get the AMS pro.

So just a little insight into the business, Bambu actually makes the majority of their profit from filament sales. The 3D printer is almost like a vehicle just to sell their branded filament.

The Bambu spools use a proprietary RFID system that will identify the filament color and type automatically for you and load the appropriate settings. Pretty convenient for new users. Buy anything other than Bambu filament and you will have to manually select the color and filament type on the machine and adjust your own settings.

The downside to this is the Bambu filament is pretty expensive. It is good filament though, usually wound nicely on the spool and pretty consistent. On sale $16 a kg isnt too bad, but for reference I usually pay around 8-11 per kg and that is usually for the more expensive Silk PLA.

Since you are new, I would suggest paying the premium and picking up some spools of Bambu filament so you dont have to get into calibrating and dialing in all different brands and types.

So buy the AMS 2. It is $350 from Bambu so you would be right at 1100 just like this deal

Looking through the "add-on" accessories here are my suggestions:

Smooth PEI plate - doesn't hurt to have at least one spare plate and the price is right as a add-on deal.
0.2 nozzle - The printer comes with a 0.4 nozzle loaded and another spare. If you plan on printing very fine detailed things, especially small text on objects, get a 0.2, but otherwise the nozzles it comes with are fine.
Anti-vibration feet - They are normally $11 and as a add on are $2. No brainier.
Matte PLA - a couple rolls of Matte PLA or as many colors as you want. The add on price is $16 with the spool which is as cheap as you'll get it. And it will be the easiest to start with, especially with the AMS and the RFIS tags.
Consumables - if you are going to print a bunch it doesn't hurt to get a extra set of wipers but it's not required
4-in-1 adapter - Extremely handy to add a extra "in" to your filament path on top of the AMS so you can easily load in a external spool. Plus it's $4.
