How long can you wait to activate service after you've ordered? If I needed to wait a month to activate would I run into any issues?

the iPhone 14 PLUS "deal" costs $199 for the phone plus the $50 or $60 plan (including $5 autopay discount) and then they give you a $20/mo bill credit for 10 months which effective make the phone cost $0.
a much better option than this, or any of the other 'deals' mentions in the op's post, is to port over to total using your current carrier unlocked phone and get their bring your own device (byod) 50% off plan rate discount for five years. ie pay just $25 for the market leading $50 Total 5G Unlimited plan with unlimited talk/text/data, PRIOIRTY data just like post paid, roaming in mexico and canada and 30+ other countries, and may other features. Then just buy a full priced new phone in a month at Total's discounted prices to replace your old phone...

for example, consider the iphone 13 and the $50 total 5g unlimited plan...
the "free" iphone 13 will cost you $600/$1200/$1800 after 12/24/36 months.
the $249 iphone 13 will cost you $550/$850/$1150 after 12/24/36 months with the 50% off byod discount.
you can do this same math for other iphone models.
you can not beat the features of total's $50 plan for $25 on any other carrier (truly unlimited data, priority data, international calling, international roaming in 30+ countries, 15gb full speed hotspot, 5guw support, multiline discounts with line 2/3/4/5 costing $30/$25/$0/$15 0 yes line 4 $0 and line 5 $15.
ps, pro tip, avoid the total wireless stores at all costs. total does not charge any fees if you purchase these 'deals' online and activate yourself online. their stores will tell you they don't charge "activation fees" but will charge you "access fees" as well as "service fee" as well as pressure you to purchase the protection plan, a case, a screen protector, a charger, and anything else they can invent.

60 days
is it automatically unlocked? B/c I have purchased one in June and when I go to unlock link it doesn't give me elegibility.

this is what I use
https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/home
they unlock automatically after 60 days of paid active service. they used to unlock after 60 days if you just activated for one month and did not renew... and some people expect that to still happen but are disapointed to learn it does not. if you are activating on an existing line, then it could take more than 60 days and it has to have been active when the months were paid (ie if your plan renewed the day before you activated the new phone then it would take 90 days before it would unlock - two 30 day paid periods).

I don't see any deals with these prices posted. There are other Total Wireless deals posted but they have all expired.
These are all current "deals", they just are not the best deals on Total. See my other comment for details.

I'm currently on BOYD plan. Can I get the iphone deal by porting my current number and cancelling the current BYOD plan? And then after 3 months, can I give the phone to a family member and rejoin the BOYD plan with my old phone and same number?

Why is there no option to choose 1 month plan only? Am I missing something?

You can't buy a phone number for port ins on eBay anymore?
Use numberbarn, or tello. Numberbarn weas easy for me, tello takes a long while.

Note that you can't use an RSIM beyond the 13. 14+ only do eSIM.
Have you tried an Rsim with the recent updates to the 13? I did it a couple years back and it worked but didn't know if it's still working with ios 18 and possible 26

Works on my 13 on 18.2.1, I haven't updated because I'm scared it'll stop working too. However, each RSIM is different I believe, so what works with my RSIM might not work with yours.

Waiting for that iPhone 15 to drop in price. $479 currently, which is rather pricy compared to the free iPhone 13 (great deal), or $579 for the 256GB variant. Hoping they run a special.

I purchased a port-out number with NumberBarn. However when I went or purchase a phone on Total, they wanted to verify the number by sending a text message with a code to it. Is there any way to get that code or get around that requirement without having to pay $9.99 for a business line on NumberBarn to use the text message feature?

Yes, I added on the messaging feature. I think it was 3 bucks.
