why hassle for their terms and conditions bs and hidden requirements for a marginal discount.
they call it competitive but barely offer anything substantial.
Here is the conversation :
"I have a question about iPhone 17 preorder.. if I want the rebate are the phones locked or unlocked ?
Thank you for your interest in our RedPocket phones and deals, XXXXX. The iPhone 17 we offer is fully unlocked, and you will receive the rebate with the unlocked device.
so I can use red pocket and another eSim along side and still get the rebate after 3 months ?
Regarding that, XXXX, that's correct—you can use an eSIM from another carrier while with RedPocket. Just make sure to install the RedPocket eSIM first before the other carrier. Also, ensure the line is active within 3 months to qualify for the rebate.
ok after 3 months do I need still to keep the red pocket line active for the phone to stay unlocked ?
RP CS Mellisa 07:39 PM
After claiming the rebate, you have the option to either keep the line active or not. Since the device is purchased unlocked, it will remain unlocked once you receive the rebate. Just be sure to claim the rebate first."

I have a mint plan to December, can I purchase and use my mint service for a couple of months before transferring?

(Btw, my iphone 16 just got unlocked today after chatting with CS - my 12th refill payment on this line was on 8/30/2025 which makes the phone eligible for unlock).
Update:
Chat with CS and was told that the error on pre-order is because rebate policy is "one rebate per line, per year", and I received rebate on iphone 16 so I can't upgrade device to iphone 17 until after rolling 365 days has passed since iphone 16 activation date (10/9/2024).
So I can't ever order iphone 17 even if I don't want iphone 17's rebate? This makes no sense.
Red pocket customer service, are the iPhone 17's fully unlocked whether it gets activated with red pocket or another carrier? Asking because your website lists the phone as unlocked.
Edit: found on website, phone is listed as unlocked and rebate is paid as virtual Visa card after three months of service. Don't know whether getting rebate means the phone is locked or unlocked. Google search says if you want the rebate, the phone is locked.
Rebate Promotion: Unlocking iPhone models bought under a rebate promotion voids the advertised rebate amount. Requires service for one year to be unlocked by request. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks OP. Good deal on an older model iPhone.
