I own 2 pair. Always get compliments, one pair i got from the sale last year and the other ive had over 10 years and had multiple soles and heals replaced at the cobbler. AN AMAZING BOOT. Made in USA

I think they were on sale for around $200 about a year ago.
I bought the wedge sole ones. They're not as dressy, but I absolutely love them.

So these run Converse Chuck Taylor size...if not a touch larger? If only there was some way to regulate sizing....Been looking for standardized sizing for 30 years now.

Pretty close to actual foot size. Kind of the case for leather boots. Typically 1/2 to full size below running shoe.

Have a pair in blue and tan. Very comfortable. Can be dressed up and down.

Trying to not buy these in black. Really don't NEED another pair of boots.

Are these worth $280? I've been casually looking at boots like this; Iron rangers, Thursday Captain StormKing, Loake, etc. Should I pounce on this, or will I see this price a lot?

They do run a bit large. I'm somewhere between an 9.5 and 10. got 9s and they fit nice. it did take a long to me to break in the pair I got. be patient with them and they are good boots

What I've gathered from the comments is that the soles wear quickly and they're $140 to replace each time. $280 + $140 to resole each time seems like quite an investment for footwear.

it's not a bad thing if they run large guys. i like to wear thick wool socks in the winter that size me up 1/2, and during the warmer months i like to run cushy insoles anyway

The soles are Vibram. Vibram wearing out quickly isn't a common belief. They're usually considered hard and long wearing soles.

If you don't like the soles, you can always change them when you resole the boots. I prefer soft wedge soles, which do wear out faster. For me the comfort of wedge soles is worth it.

I think Wolverine 1000 Mile is on par with Red Wing. But the quality control sucks. Examine your pair. If they look okay, then enjoy. The fit is about the same as Iron Rangers.

There was one comment that said the soles wear out quickly. I do not know how much it costs to get these resoled from Wolverine but there are other coblers as well. $140 does not seem out of the question.

BUT here is a picture of the sole:



I have several pairs of similar shoes and I do not think these soles "Wear out fast".

Also I have Alden shoes with leather soles and they do not seem to wear out fast either but rubber/vibram topper would be more durable.

How heavy are these? I had a pair of redwings I tossed because they were so darn heavy. I switched to FSI Avengers and they are so much lighter and more comfy.

Can someone confirm these are not the cheap Wolverine brand? I bought a pair of wolverine's for around $100 and they were shit, fell apart very quickly.

Yeah it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. For $140 I could get a brand new pair of boots.
Now if they lasted several years of daily wear before needing a re-sole, I might consider it.
