This is an AI upscale.

Best quality is still the MGM USA Blu-ray from 2013.

Avoid this one people. They did a lazy, horrible job with the 4K video upgrade.

The redeeming feature on getting this 4K release is it includes the original theatrical mono mix (presented in lossless split-channel DTS-HD 2.0 Master Audio).

These lazy AI upscales are gonna quicken the death of the physical 4K format. No one wants to spend $30 on a disc that looks worse than the cheap Blu-ray from 20 years ago

The overwhelming reaction I've seen is even though this is a AI upscale it actually looks very good. Certainly nothing close to the Aliens, T2 or True Lies situation.

T1 is to T2 what Evil Dead is to Evil Dead 2.

I just binge watched the first three and I only have HDX digital on Fandango of this movie. It looked crazy good I can't imagine how good it would look without in 4K. I might pick this disc up just for that reason.

What's age have to do with anything? If a $17 4k released within the past year is too much for you I bet you can find the VHS at Goodwill for $2.
