Dollar store frames. These are not good, I got similar frames on a deal and ended up returning.

Agree. Check out the RÖDALM series from IKEA. Super affordable and they look great. They have a shadow box effect which is cool as well.

Speaking from experience, these are perfectly fine. I buy lots of these types of frames (they also have white frames at same cost); the larger ones use wood frames that you can put better mountings on. The mountings are incredibly weak, so I don't recommend anything other than a drawing or poster/photo.


WRT dollar store. The dollar store ones around me are similar in quality but much smaller, and they cost $2 each... hmmm.


WRT Ikea. I find Michael's pre-packaged frames better quality and cheaper (with coupon). So, ever since many years ago, I've not looked into Ikea for frames.


A place for cheap frames is Ross-type stores, they have posters (of various paintings) mounted in much heavier-duty-than-necessary frames. These can get very cheap for the frames (I ditch the posters).
