but luckily i am 10 mins drive from a Micro Center and would rather it buy it from them since it supports township business taxes etc

micro center has been selling the 16/512 for $1,249 for the last, oh i dunno, 3-4 months?
then everyone bumps the prices back up once school started (including micro center, and also on the $449 mac mini which is back to $499), now the sales are coming back again
it's getting a bit ridiculous
Plus only 512 GB SSD. 1 TB or go home.
