it's gen 5x2 or gen 4x4 resulting in the same throughput. this is useful if you have only 2 PCI lanes available and gen 5. For example msi x870 tomahawk has the 2nd m.2 slot sharing bandwidth with the USB 4 controller so they both get 2 lanes each. if you were to use all 4 lanes for m.2, USB 4 gets disabled. with this drive you can have both enabled with no speed loss.

Samsung says its a hybrid of both, but it's likely marketing jargon.

Anyone have a guess on what BF prices will be like? 50 per TB is pretty good, wondering if BF will be the same or if we might see something even better.

gen 4 max bandwidth, but can run on gen 5x2 (same bandwidth as 4x4) at the same speed. the 5x2 is useful for motherboards that have split pci-e lanes over multiple devices, or expansion cards that are wired over x2 instead of x4 for more storage expansion.

I don't think that's how they put stuff on sale during BF sale. Not price per GB. It would be just a discount of 30% - 70%.

Isn't BF like Amazon prime days, when everything is more expensive than before/after?

looking at the historic prices for the last year its never been this low by $40. IMO i don't think we will see 150$ 4TB from years ago, market insecurity and inflation this might be as good as it gets so if you need it now go for it if ya can wait and see then its a role of the dice.

Yes.. because some companies decided to water it down and have specials throughout the yr. The crazy days of sweet sweet deals on the day after thanksgiving are long past.

I agree. I may regret this but I am in for one, and I bought one when they got to $229 a few weeks ago.
