You can hack this one

https://www.homedepot.com/b/Tools...<br /> The total before tax would be $85.20. Add the cut off saw and batteries to different store pick up, and only go pick up the cut off saw.

This versus Dewalt's version. This one seems more compact and lighter.

I have both. Ryobi also has a variant. Great tools and very convenient. With this one using the M12 system it is indeed lighter and more compact. I use this tool more than I ever thought I would.

That link takes you to a page showing all kinds of cutoff tools and kits, just fyi. Its not a specific deal.

The first one on the page says it's free with eligible offer which is two batteries and charger for $199. You add them both to cart and you'll see the prorated prices. Then return the batteries.

I use this as a contractor. Don't expect the same level of performance as a full size grinder. I love the reversible direction and compact size. Often though it bogs down cutting through thicker material and tile.

As others have said the other deal is hackable and it also includes the HO batteries. This is just the XC batteries. It's $10 more for the other deal.

Speaking of "hacking" this is more literal in that you can actually test your batteries to see if they'll reject it for warranty using what you find in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHj0-Gzvbeo

Long story short, Milwaukee's BMS (battery management system) is absolute garbage, doesn't wear the cells evenly so once any of them go below a certain threshold, your battery is toast.

And depending on what is stored on your battery, you might be rejected on your warranty claim.

I don't think there is a non-HD 5Ah battery. If you look in the pictures of the $189 deal, the battery says "High Output" in big letters down the side.

The non HO's are 3Ah (with the big base), 4Ah, and 6Ah I think.
