moen did tests on a bunch of these dupe/knockoff chaP faucets and found that a lot of them had lead.

given, Moen has an interest in scaring you off alternatives but I am not surprised these no names cut corners. not worth the risk.

edit: changed the URL to a "quote" bc SD keeps breaking it. the new app is awful

Yeah, I'd stay away from these no name Chinese faucets. I bought a similar looking one from amazon that was later taken off the market after the CPSC verified it was leeching lead.

Do you know the particular components that are contaminated? Is it leaded brass?

If you have children or pets, they will even drink from the toilet I've heard, so yes

I buy lots of no name junk, but not when it comes to things like plumbing fixtures. The name brands all come with full lifetime warranties, the cost difference is not worth it.

No, of course not. Bathroom faucets are only for washing hands. Seriously, though, rinse a toothbrush, rinse your mouth, take a pill, etc.

absolutely these things. but that's such a tiny amount of consumption. not even worth worrying about. exposure is miniscule and if you like to worry, youre getting exposed to more lead through other sources.
