You can get crucial 48gb ddr5 (2 sticks) for $120 right now on Amazon... not worth almost $200 more for something 90% of people don't need.
The use cases for lots of RAM have probably grown in the past few years. I think that "home labs" have increased in popularity quite a bit. Having multiple VMs is a quick way to consume a lot of RAM.
And the other is AI. LLMs benefit lots of RAM and faster RAM. So while in the past having faster RAM usually didn't have a significant impact on system performance, RAM speeds are suddenly a major point of consideration.

I wonder if this kit is on AMD's QVL...
I got this working on my b650e-f mobo and 9800x3d, since its 4 single rank sticks it will work, you will have to downclock to 6000mhz to run it in uclk1 to take advantage of full infinity cache. From there you can fiddle up and see how far you get. There's several youtube videos on it. But now I got all the ram I need for 150 tabs of slickdeals.

What a/b EXPO? Is that feature recognized for the RAM in the BIOS? I already have all the parts I need to build my next X870 PC rig, but I just haven't had time to get around to filming the whole build process and I have a CORSAIR Vengeance 48GB DDR5 6000 CL30 kit which is EXPO certified that I plan to use.

Yea EXPO is for AMD, will 100% work. This get says XMP typically for Intel, however if you want to enable EXPO on the kit it will hit 6400mhz but run on uclk2 which cuts inifinity cache in half which is worse. Clocking it back down to 6000mhz and going on uclk1 will be the way to go.
