Competent setup. I got the 870e-p for $50 or so more. Very pleased with the combo.

I got the 7800x3D bundle previously about the same price. Improved FPS in most games by like 15-20% coming from an i9-10900k I believe (early 2021 build). Still using same RTX 3090, still worthwhile improvements across the board.

Thank you. Note the RAM comes with CAS latency of 36 which may matter to some. FWIW PCpartpicker guides and gpt recommended looking for ram with CAS latency of 30.

The only way to get CL30 is if you upgrade the ram to 64GB which is what I plan on doing but with the X870E-P motherboard. They increased the price for these bundles by $30-50 this month, I plan on waiting until Black Friday or so as prices do fluctuate through the year.

They increased bundle prices right before labor day by $30-50 for bundles, the bundle ram upgrades increased in price as well. Guessing they'll come down by or for Black Friday.

Doesn't hurt to wait because Prime Day is pretty soon. I don't see the Micro Center bundle likely increasing before then or even after. I know by November markdowns start to begin throughout the month so that's when I'll start buying my components, probably the week prior and week of Black Friday. I do want the MC X870+9800x3d bundle with the 64GB CL30. I can ala cart it likely in November because I expect prices to drop prior to BF (a lot of sales are for the week of or begin prior to the week of).
