Screen quality is somewhere between 720 and 1080p. The camera cable has a bit of stiffness which helps when guiding it, but like most other borescopes cameras it overall sucks big time. Unless the item is right up next to the camera you will see nothing. This is actually my second borescope (first connected to phone) and the quality is better than the version that connect to phone but nowhere, absolutely nowhere near the quality of images shown.
TLDR: pass, not worth it

Looks like you get a display with this one for $15 so that doesn't seem bad because you can leave your phone behind.

In some ways they are invaluable, helping you see where you otherwise couldn't, but even then they are a nightmare to use. You don't have control over where the camera is going, which way up it is, the visibility is usually terrible where you can only see just in front of the camera clearly and even then things like dust, insulation, etc will dirty the lens. I have taped the camera head to coat hangers and metal rods to try and get it to go where I need it on occasion and it's brutally frustrating.
I still recommend having one, it's better than nothing. But I can basically guarantee you will hate having to use it.
