I've ended up buying 4 of these this summer. Liked the first set so much I bought 2 more. Solid fans. Unique form factor. The high setting is really high and the low setting is really low. Have one on the kitchen counter, one on my night stand and one on my office desk; gave one to one the kids. The kitchen usually stays on high, the nightstand gets medium all night, and the desk air moves around nicely at close range on low. At this price it's a very slick deal for a solid quality fan.

On low, it's not loud. Medium is reasonably quiet as well.
These fans are really good. I use two (in different locations) at work.

It's about 8 watts at lowest setting. About 22-24 watts at highest speed. Puts out enough. My whole room vornado is a lot bigger but used 30 watts at it's lowest setting.

On the low and medium setting, this fan is so quiet that I often do not realize it is on and forget to turn it off when I leave the bedroom for the day. On the low setting, which is a perfect airflow for the desktop, you can not hear it running at all.

Only on the high setting, when it's blowing like a tornado ripping through the room, will you be able to hear that it is on...but not loud from the fan motor, but rather from the air whipping through the fins.
