Seems like an amazing deal, any problems with Acer refurbs in the past? If not I would say this is truly a slick deal.

I've heard a lot of people saying the Acer referbs arrive in essentially new condition. That's not to say nobody had a bad experience, but generally they seem to do a good job.

Can anyone confirm the resolution?

Under the Item Specifics section it says - 1920x1200 while in the body of the description it says 16″ WQXGA (2560×1600) 240 Hz IPS Display

You get a 2 year warranty which at least for me makes this better than a brand new one provided that the refurb comes in like new condition of course.

That's an error. This series does not come with a 1200p display. Both, 16S and 16, come with a 1600p 240Hz display. The only difference is that the former is an OLED while the latter is an IPS.

Bought one of the last acre refurbs and it was a brick in less than an hr. The return wasn't so bad but took them time to refund

It's 1600P. I believe it only runs 240 hz on the Nvidia card. Onboard max is 120hz but confirm

Better blacks and color on OLED and better brightness on IPS. I don't think burn in is an issue for the life of this laptop

I bought the acer predator helios neo 16S refurb and ended up returning it for a legion instead. the cpu made the laptop way too hot to use comfortably even when just watching youtube or reading emails. it felt too hot for me to rest my hands over the keyboard. not sure if my unit was defective or not but the right vent was blowing more air than the rear or the left side which again made it too hot for me to use a mouse next to the laptop. the screen is also locked at 240hz which kills the battery when not plugged in.

if you plan to leave your laptop docked and plugged in the all the time using an external monitor and keyboard then these problems will not affect you, but i do wonder about the life expectancy of this laptop given the high temperatures. its still a great price point for these specs so you're getting what you pay for

Is the power uncapped for this one, compared to the thinner Neo 16S? The issue with the other thinner one is the power limit on the 5070 Ti, probably due to weaker cooling system.

Nope. It's the full power 140W 5070 Ti. The Slim is 110-115W.
