It's not the greatest Souls game by any means but I enjoyed it. I easily got $20 out of it. I can't remember my hour count now but I did one playthrough and enjoyed it.
It's definitely better than the original game, but it's still mediocre. The checkpoint system with the seeds sucks, and I wasn't a fan of all the Umbral lamp reliance. I can appreciate that they tried some different things in the very over saturated Souls-like market, but different doesn't automatically equal good.

Totally agree on the seed/checkpoint system though eventually I had enough seeds to work around it. I actually liked the Umbral lamp aspect of the game though. I thought it added an aspect of gameplay that was fresh (for me anyways). I had the game forever before I bothered opening it up so I didn't actually experience the launch and 1. versions of the game but rather started out with 2.0 which I think probably influences my opinion of the game. Admittedly, it's not Elden Ring but at the same time, I was able to enjoy for it for what it is.
