Oldie but goodie. I bought this exact light a bit over a year ago and it's been mounted on my son's MTB helmet most of its life and has performed great.
I de-domed the 519a emitter so now it has a bit warmer tint, closer to 4300k, and slightly increased throw as well. Quite easy to do if you know what you are doing, but could also ruin the LED if you peel the phosphorus layer off accidentally. 5000k is great too, the tint on 519a is amazing, and there is zero hint of green or blue for other flashlight snobs. All 519a emitters I've had had 95 CRI too.
Now the "negatives". There is no buck driver, which is to be expected at this price level. brightness will go down as battery goes down. Obviously 1200 lumens is only on turbo, and lasts for less than a minute. Continuous max brightness is around 400 lumens for an hour based on my experience. Still plenty and more what amazon flashlights give you. Lower lumens per watt than emitters like SST40 because of high CRI. Efficiency, CRI, and tint. Choose 2. This has great tint and CRI.
Includes 18650 too, and since the capacity is 3000mah, I'm never worried about max lumens per watt on these kinds of light. Maybe for lights using CR123 or 18350 or smaller, then efficiency matters more.
Here's how it's mounted on my son's helmet, he absolutely loves night riding in the forest.
