Be aware that this isn't really great in an area of high humidity or rain. It will trap moisture and contribute to rust on the iron. Pair it with a silicone cover for best protection

I use both silicone and a cover like the one in OP. Silicone is to keep the stone clean of pests (mostly concerned with mouse droppings). And the vinyl cover is to keep the elements out.
