I bought one that wasn't, but claimed to be one, on the description. And I raised a stonk about it. As a result, I got something vaguely like this one, for free.
Beware, as an IT professional, I have tried many of these generic USB DVD drives. The majority of them are old used DVD drives that they salvage, cleanup, put in a case, add a new faceplate, and sell as new. For example, the last one I opened had a dirty beat up drive from 2010 inside. The button was also wonky from the aftermarket faceplate which made the drive pop open at the slightest touch. It's probably fine if you want something really cheap, but just know what you are likely getting. You can typically get new LG USB DVD drives on Amazon or eBay that are actually new for $20-25
You have absolutely no basis for your comment. And probably wrong. I have no idea if this drive is good or bad, but I dont make up a fantacy and post it. Please help make slickdeals a high quality place.
I've needed to rip a DVD twice in the past year when I haven't touched an optical disc in years. The only drive I have is built in to an All In One PC that I don't use so its quite a chore.
