I got this model a few months back, mine came with 8gb of ram and I added another stick of 8gb. I wiped Windows and installed CachyOS, it gets 20-30 more fps than it did on Windows, dependingon the game. I highly recommend CachyOS to anyone who gets this laptop.

Just barely bought and returned one of these for this price. It's a really good laptop for a lot of reasons, and the 4050 is solid, but the CPU in this one is actually pretty weak. I wasn't looking at it specifically because the GPU is usually the bottleneck in a laptop. I really liked almost everything else about it but it didn't fulfill my needs

No integrated graphics so battery life is going to be terrible. If its like the model with a 4060 it'll last 2 hrs on battery life.

Yep only 4 cores/8 threads of old-generation Zen 3 and no iGPU at all. This CPU has been binned many times

That was the Intel version and problems were mostly reported from Indian users on reddit. I am guessing maybe humid/heat in that region could of been a factor.

I bought an open box. Good for the price, but it's heavy. Unused space around screen. Keyboard has unnecessary mini number keys, making hard to press backspace.

Probably, but it's only 144hz screen. If you have a 200+ hz monitor to do what you're asking about, don't buy a laptop - desktop PC all the way if you're looking at a desktop setup anyway.

Unfortunately, can't connect it to my CalDigit TS3+ dock through USBc because the LOQ doesn't have Thunderbolt/USB4. While I can still connect an external monitor, wireless mouse, and keyboard using the existing HDMI and USB-A ports, it defeats the purpose of my single Thunderbolt-cable dock. This seemed like a good deal at first but simply doesn't meet my needs.

Was looking at this one too but Asus has consistently disappointed me in the past to the point that I refuse to give them any more of my money. I find that 75% of the time if something breaks, they will do whatever they can to not cover it and if by some miracle they agree to fix it, you will have to wait so long on top of owing so much in fee's that it's not even worth it to get it repaired.
