Yeah it would be nice if they would come up with some sort of heat resistant outer coating, these look like black versions of the 'oveglove' that you can buy at dollar general for 5 bucks

When dry they work great. I use them daily as pot holders. You have much better dexterity with these. Mine are 5 years old. Maybe it's time for a new pair.

Because the gloves insulate against the heat with a porous material. When the water turns into scalding vapor, it passes right through.

Which is why I continuously wonder how come these aren't dipped in silicone like my heart proof spatula so you great great resistant waterproof outside and protective insulation inside.
