After 2042 I'm never pre ordering another BF game. In fact I think I'll wait for Black Friday for this

If you don't have any Gift Cards/Cert./Promos to use with BB to make this deal sweeter, then probably just buy from Newegg for 59.99

Unfortunately, Newegg doesn't offer the PS5 version with a discount.

They used to be able to pre-sell games based on hype, and giving players a few days (or even a week) of early access. However, Battlefield hasn't really been good since BF4, and many of us hoped 2042 would bring things back to that level, but it didn't. I still have hopes that this new one will, but people have realized the series hasn't been strong for a while, and the hype is gone. Without hype, it's hard to pre-sell games, and there's no reason to purchase a pre-sale game.

On a side note, EA, please give us BF4 experience in an Operation Desert Storm setting. I would love a triple-A game that's set during Desert Storm!

Pre order was a thing when supply was limited back in early 2000's. I'm not sure why anyone would pre-order anything with the state of gaming in the last 15 years.

I'm in the camp of preorder only WITH a discount. In this case, it's a $10(14%) discount and many people received $5 or $10 certificates on top of this. BF2042 didn't impress me but the open beta made it feel like BF4 again. So thanks OP.
One thing to note is this is a $10 gift card to be used later and can't be applied to future purchases -- if you're not going to buy anything at Best Buy then it's not as much a discount as a credit for a future purchase (i.e. you need to buy something else to realize the discount!)
That being said, I'm probably in for one and will use the $10 on Battlefield 7 Stick Out Tongue

I bought the last BF for $20 and it was decently fun. However, isn't $70 in this economy a bit too much?

IMO depends on how much you'll realistically play it. The last Battlefield I played a TON was 4 and I put at least 500 hours into it (probably way more cause I was in a "clan" of players). At $70 that would have been $0.14/hour haha. I did buy BF1 and BFV for around $50 each and just never got into them, but I did enjoy the beta of BF6 overall though like others I wish there were bigger maps. I put in a preorder for store pickup and will wait a week to see what reddit/reviewers think.

Smart! I loved BF1. The guns and their sounds were great, and the campaign was pretty enjoyable as well. All of the jugganauts were fun as heck. I put over 1,000 hours on that game, and then less than 10 hours into BFV. Couldn't get into that either, although the graphics were the best thing about it on my PS4 Pro at the time.

The later generation PS4 Pro games (Horizon, Star Wars Battlefront 2, BFV, etc) were so impressive.

When I saw the thumbnail for this option I saw it as $60 $69.99 thinking it was a reverse deal and inflation had not impacted us... lol.

I'm with you.Especially since everything is going digital, and outsourced labor are in countries with a struggling economy; 80 dollars is insane.
