something I've noticed is that my fancy nightlights that turn on/off with other light

fail within a year or two

but my manual switch ones that I always leave on

have run for a decade now

on the set i received, the "button" on the side used to change the brightness was broken on both. so it's stuck at the brightest setting. the quality on these is definitely fitting the sale price (if not a little less)

Not my experience. I've bought a couple of different inexpensive night lights on Amazon with a similar discount to this. No problem after a couple of years of use.
