Jamo speakers are FAR from audiophile level according to the internet. However I bough a 5.0 set a few years ago to hold me over and am still using it because to me the sound just fine. Also the white version had very high WAF.

At full price these are a joke but at this price I'd say you could do much worse

It's perfectly fine unless you're sitting super off the sweet spot. Elitist audiophiles will make tons of content talking about how it's awful, and yes, having this speaker orientated vertically would be much better for almost all situations but it's perfectly fine for the average living room where nobody is more than 25 degrees off axis of the TV anyway.

I also have a 5.1.2 all Jamo setup with a SVS Sub and a Denon S970H. Sounds perfect to my ears.

I vote for going with Sony center.

Would it work if I put two or even 3 of these side by side hooked to the same center connect on the avr? or would that be stupid lol

i have an open house cept the bed an bath an NOTHING is in line with anything. I can walk thru the house and watch the same projector or large tv screen in the kitchen/walk-in/living area though. Unless the tv had bad viewing angles. 25 degree is extremely small. The size of one person 8 ft in front of a tv.

Soo... would the idea of maybe 5 of these in a garage just to have audio in a garage be worth it?

No. Not what they are designed for. Look for some decent bookshelf speakers. You can easily get a pair of good quality bookshelf speakers for under $100 on sale.

This was a massive upgrade from the Dayton audio C40 budget center channel speaker it replaced which I picked up as part of a 5 speaker package.

Sweet spot is smaller (as folks have mentioned), but perfect for my second home theater setup. It doesn't match the B&W CDM CNT I have in my other theater, but it's great for dialogue at an outstanding price.

I used these temporarily as the L/R part of a 2.1 setup. Pretty good for $78. I switched to the Klipsch 600M's……overkill for an office setup, which is why I love it.

Add a subwoofer and properly configure your receiver and it would likely be pretty decent.

1. You can spend A LOT more than Jamo.
2. I wonder how many people out of 100 would be able to identify the Jamo vs the "superior speakers" in a blind listen test.
3. If you don't have noise isolation strategies, if you aren't hanging sound absorbent material on your walls...chances are you aren't one of the few that can.

I have entire set for my home theatre. I hallucinate the reference series Klipsch I used to own were better, but I wouldn't bet much that I could identify which is which blind folded.

Ironically for many displays, a main issue they suffer from is bad viewing angles. Some start to degrade as early as 20 degrees.FYI that one person you mentioned would have to be pro basketball player in one direction from center.

I would add:
1. Yes you can but what you spend doesn't really tell you how something will sound.
2. Is kinda conflating two questions. Most have never heard Jamo. Now whether 100 people could tell if the RP series sound superior vs these. If I set them up all 100 could tell the difference regardless of #3 imo.
3. like #1 buying is only one aspect, have to know where/how to use them.
Even then, likely wouldn't improve these Jamos to sound like the RP series imo.

never get a lesser center channel, if you want a center channel for movies that is where the money should go.

I have the Jamo setup with the Jamo S 81 CEN. Worth upgrading to this Jamo S 83 CEN if I have the room for the bigger cabinet?

Looks like a good starting point for a bluetooth speaker project.
