These are good tv's and I own two of them used exclusively for gaming. I have NO complaints. The best thing is you can set them to "turn on to last input" and you'll never see a home screen and it is on within 5 seconds which is outstanding. You can also turn it off without the remote by tapping the button at the center bottom, then holding it for 1 second. It acts just like a huge monitor.

Tell me about all of your 120hz content because I own a Series X and a PS5 and there is very little there.

How would this tv do under a covered porch? Looking for a cheap tv. Sunlight won't hit screen and bunch of trees but still some reflective light.

It's a 55 get over it. It's not a 75+ unless you're using as a monitor a foot away you're not seeing a difference on your ultra compressed Netflix or YouTube tv stream

You're talking about the TCL 55Q77K "QLED" vs the mini-LED listed here, right?

I'm tempted, and the reviews are good, but I've had 2 TCL TVs, both lower line models. They both had a slightly dark screen. Many scenes are hard to see because of it. I'm hoping for a more vibrant picture. Would this mini-LED be a big improvement ?

I honestly can't tell the difference between the picture on this and the 55" LG OLED from a few years ago that I just accidentally destroyed (this is the replacement.)

There are people on this site and elsewhere that make it their mission to kill their own joy by finding every little problem, but if you're not one of them then there are only a couple of things I don't like about this TV:
  • The TV is slow to fully wake up. The Bluetooth feature of the remote (needed for voice control) doesn't start working for like 30 seconds.
  • The inputs are on the right side, unlike the LG it's replacing, and there's only 3 of them
  • The remote isn't programmable/universal, so if your soundbar/etc. doesn't have ARC/eARC HDMI, you're SOL for having volume control with one remote.
Other than that, it's great. It's a huge improvement over LG's OS and the remote with its backlight is so much nicer, despite not having the "magic" pointing feature. The UI is so much less braindead than LG's and it's not always asking to update stuff.
