Saw this in Sam's Club Niagara Falls NY. Seems like an insane deal given the widespread xbox price increases.

They're not selling. instead of selling them at a lost, they'll raise the price. This is on the small shipment(s) they'll get next month which apply to the new tariff fees. There is no reason for MS to drop prices to sell at subsidized pricing when there wouldn't be enough in the userbase to buy software (from software licensing fees) to gain that money back.
Youre not wrong. I simply didn't think the increase would come sooner than expected

Yeah. I was surprised too. but the fees keep changing.and you know they'll change again in a short period of time. I am guessing MS can't help with the prices by raising it on other regions when the Xbox is also not selling on those other regions outside US. The tariff fee is around 20 or 25%. if you do try to do rough math, 20% of a $500 console is $100. Sony was not going to raise the price of the PS5 from $500 to $600. so they instead raised the price of the console on other countries to offset that extra $100 they now have to pay the government. so the PS5 jacked up by $50 instead of $100 since that other $50 is absorbed by the console price on regions outside USA. MS can't do this when the console sales is just too low outside of USA.
thank you for putting ymmv cause i had 2 sams clubs close to me one had it on clearance but didn't have the console at all still shows one in the system and the other one has them but not on clearance though lowest I have seen cause my friend sent me a screen shot was 319 im like dude he was gonna get it but the lady told him they dont have it alot of stores seem to be out and she told him its discontinued so there not getting any more just games and accessories it looks like
Microsoft console prices are going up in October, making an Xbox Series X $649.99!
Consoles are supposed to go down in price over time, not up. XSX has been out 5 years now, no way their BOM is the same. The only thing that makes sense is that this price increase is temporary until their new SKU comes out and the price is lowered. If not, then Microsoft will be in even more trouble because $650 doesn't make any sense whatsoever. At the very least, they can eat the tarrifs because the tech is so old.
