I wouldnt say this is a good "starter" printer. It requires constant attention for Z-offset, which is finicky at best. You have to calibrate the Z-offset with ALMOST EVERY print, and sometimes even adjust mid-print. Also, you cant adjust the Z-offset unless the printer is actively printing outside of calibration.

Many 3rd-party slicing programs dont have pre-established profiles for this printer. Mine started printing erratically early into its lifespan; in one instance it crashed the printhead into the plate, which created a giant blob of PLA+ around the head destroying it. After that debacle, it started giving me Y-Axis errors, and finally started to zig-zag all over the place when trying to print a Benchy. Support tried to assist at first but after sending several parts (a few DOA) and after I purchased other Anycubic parts trying to resolve the problem, support gave up and told me to return it. Also this printer is end of life, so, you wont have much luck finding spare parts much longer.

I would check your z-axis stepper motor and see if it's loose on the mount. I heard similar complaints and someone discovered the screws were loose from the factory. I've been printing non-stop with my Kobra 3 max for over a week and it's produced the cleanest prints of any printer I've owned right out of the box with zero adjustments.
