The difference between this one for $170 and the last frontpage from this same seller at $150 is this one has 0 Bad Sectors and 0 Power Hours compared to that one having 10 or less and no guarantee how many hours it was run.

I would NOT buy a refurbished Toshiba drive. I bought one a month ago that was 'certified refurbished' that wouldn't mount correctly to my NAS, I checked the S.M.A.R.T diagnostics and it had a total of 43,000 hours of run time on the hard drive.

so basically, this is new "old stock"with 0 power hours meaning it was just checked to make sure it works?

Yep and if it has any issues they should replace as per the ebay listing.

I think I did. Obviously I returned the 'refurb' Toshiba unit (Amazon) and bought a new (more expensive) Western Digital replacement

5 year warranty on very reliable HDD for home use or NAS. The HDD is known in online communities for being one of the more reliable ones especially for the price.

Before anyone craps on the deal for being refurbished, please do your research. These are fine for almost all purposes.

Generally manufacturers clear the smart data before selling them, so even 0 power hours are not actually "0" (https://serverpartdeals.com/blogs...comparison).

Not a bad deal in current prices… nothing like it used to be though.

How do warranty claims work on these? Bring it to the ebay seller or to toshiba?
