My nephew is into these but I didn't realize they were so expensive.
He's only interested in the Limit Break deck though.

You can find them standalone, the Limit Break one seems to the most popular/expensive and is still $65-70:https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Gath...ast_sto_dp

The others are much cheaper.

Can you even buy the "collectors"'cards anymore? Was it a limited run? All I've seen is the "play" ones.

You can still get the collector's boxes and boosters, but I think they are close to $1,100 for a collector boosters box of the final fantasy set. I haven't been able to justify any of those for a while.

if it's like the Lord of the Rings releases, there may be collector boosters around the holidays that have different chase cards. they will likely be snapped up by scalpers pretty fast too though.

I'm shocked these dropped this much. $230 pre-order price, $400+ the next week after release...guess they just kept printing.

Some valuable cards in there if you still have any. I started during 3rd gen and collected 3rd and 4th...could have bought a house with my collection if I had saved it.

You mean unlimited, no such thing as 3rd ?

Lived for 3 yrs traveling (4* Hotels) selling cards, playing tournaments (my MTG deck was about $4600, I knew a couple of guys with $8k decks).

Manafest Champion of MTG, Star Wars, Star Trek CCG's.

Garfield's pretty cool, used whoop his a$$ in sealed deck which is all he played.

Yeah we called Revised "3rd Edition" too, not sure why. These FF Commander decks were $240 "MSRP" well before launch. They just keep printing this set. Was shocked to see $150 for all decks.

correct, but ya the longer it's been the more we referred to Revised as 3rd Ed. Ya, I helped run a small card store in the area and ran a number of local ternaments. Never traveled for it though. I should go pull out what else I still have from that era, only like $3k in MTG left though.

Final Fantasy was one of their biggest print runs, and they had said a long time ago that the expectation would be that they would keep the "play" products in Stock as much as possible.

Price drop is hitting because the online resellers are now getting bigger drops in stock. Original run seemed to have been through a lot of Local Gaming Stores and places that don't usually offer deep discounts on product.

A few months ago (Late July?), Costco even had their own print run of these decks for $60 each and included more stuff than the original deck releases.

Depends if it comes thru Diamond or Wizards. Shops go thru Diamond usually, Costco would get direct from Wizards. Sport cards the same.
