The other deal last week is $3 more but includes 2 batteries and a beautiful hard-shell case. https://slickdeals.net/f/18605056-6-seesii-mini-cordless-electric-hand-chainsaw-w-2x-21v-batteries-22-free-shipping

The chainsaw easily cut 5" trunk pepper tree multiple times and the battery still had some juice left. I want to buy another one for gift but I want extra battery and a hard-shell case.

That one is not self oiling, this one is. So, I think you are comparing apples to oranges.

This is a good mini chainsaw from Tietoc. I had others (TomyVic, SeeSii) but settled on Tietoc. I own 2 of these so that I have 2 batteries, 4 chains, 2 blades, and a spare chainsaw motor if one fails, all for under $40. Good deal.

I had that seesii before and the chain cover nut strips the screw easily, which happened to me. Others had the same complaints. Once that screw is striped, no way for chain cover to stay on, so no chain tensioning, and chainsaw is useless.

hard-shell case is overrated imo. case is made from very cheap thin plastic material. This tietoc is better albeit without hard case. I use the study box it comes in and that works fine for storage.

It's like comparing two piles of poop—one has two flies, the other is still warm and smells slightly better. At the end of the day, they're both still poop.

For $22 (including two battery packs and case), I only expect this to cut through about 30 five-inch trunks. If I wanted something more durable, I would've gone with a name brand. But at this price, even getting through 30 trunks is worth it—and then I can repurpose the 18650 battery cells for my old solar LED lights.

Since I'm not cutting trees every day (maybe once or twice a year), this could last me a long time. The hard shell case is a big plus—it makes storing it away easy and tidy.

I use, and recommend a regular corded electric chainsaw instead.

I'm shocked at the positive reviews found here. I actually expected poor performance from something like this. For less than $20 I will definitely give it a try. Thanks folks!

I bought it in August when it was $15. Used it a few times and it's a workhorse. Well worth the $$...

Does it matter if it is or isn't for $15? It's not a high quality product.

Is this a better option than using reciprocating saw with pruning blade? You can get a bunch of blades for around $7 and they work great in my experience.

I have this and it doesn't leak. I neither remove the battery nor the oil and it's fine.
