Don't be fooled, this might be two generations newer, but it's not a big improvement.

Ofcourse everyone would take the 5060 ti 16GB over the 3070 but the question is is it a big enough difference to shill out the money for the upgrade.

Keep the 3070. It's only a 10% gain at best.

I would take the 5060 ti 16GB over the 3070. Just google 3070 vs 5060 ti and check around for yourself to see if you think it would be worth it. Check youtube for videos on how the card performs for your setup(1080,1440 or 4k). I literally found a video by a guy named Jegs TV on youtube who compares side by side a 3070 vs 5060 ti. (Edited: he is using the 16gb model on his youtube video)

That is the question and it is not. Coming from 20 series or earlier it is worth it, but not a 3070. Minor upgrade for nearly $400.

9060 xt or this? Seems like it's neck and neck in performance.

IDK you can sell the 3070 for 200 or so after fees on ebay or FB marketplace. So it's a decent upgrade for under $200 OOP IF you are doing something that can really use the extra Vram, like over 1080 gaming or LLMs/stable diffusion.

Assume you can sell the 3070 for $200 or more.
I'd take a 10% gain for under $200.

Yes, having more vram is great, but there's not enough of an uplift to justify getting this when already owning a 3070. Plus the hassle of selling a card… no thanks

Still not a worthwhile upgrade at 379. It's like going from iPhone 16 to the 17. If you can't see the improvement it's a waste of your money but of course people can spend their money how they choose. For a moment I forgot financial literacy doesn't exist in 2025. We justify a 10 -15% performance uplift for relatively large sums of money even though we have a gpu at home.....because of FOMO.... yay!

Depends on your use case. It could be significantly faster.
The 5060 TI supports hardware NVENC video encoding for fast video encoding and includes support for AV1 encoding. It also provides enhanced 4:2:2 chroma subsampling support for faster and higher-quality video processing in creator applications. This hardware-accelerated encoding and decoding allows for efficient performance in video editing and streaming tasks, especially when working with modern codecs.

I've been using a 9060XT 16GB for the past couple weeks and I'm pretty satisfied especially with my personal constraints. Seems pretty close to the 60Ti as far as I can tell, I'm running 1440p pretty nicely. Depends on price, for me it was about $380 to my hands.
