That's a helluva deal! Not showing any pickups in Nashville, but it is showing for Huntsville, AL which is 90 min away. Play around with the zip codes in your area to see what's available.

And while these new TV's are much lighter than in the past, these 85"+ monsters weigh about 100lbs, and are awkward. Picking them up is definitely a "phone a friend" project.

Overall Review: TCL 85Q751G

The TCL 85Q751G is a high-value 85-inch 4K QLED smart TV that delivers strong performance for its price, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious buyers seeking a large-screen experience without sacrificing core features.

Pros:

Excellent Value: Priced around $900–$1,000, it offers premium features like QLED color, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDMI 2.1 at a fraction of the cost of high-end brands.

Great Picture Quality: The 4K UHD QLED panel produces vibrant colors, good brightness, and solid contrast. Support for multiple HDR formats—including Dolby Vision and HDR10+—ensures dynamic, detailed images across various content types.

Smooth Performance: The 120Hz refresh rate and FreeSync Premium Pro support make it a solid pick for gamers, reducing motion blur and eliminating screen tearing on compatible devices.

User-Friendly Smart Platform: Google TV provides a clean, intuitive interface with personalized recommendations and seamless access to major streaming apps. Built-in Google Assistant and Alexa support enhance voice control options.

Ample Connectivity: Four HDMI 2.1 ports are a standout feature at this price, enabling connections to gaming consoles, soundbars, and other devices with full bandwidth support (4K@120Hz, VRR, ALLM).

Strong Audio for Built-In Speakers: At 15W, the speakers deliver clear, room-filling sound suitable for everyday use, though audiophiles will still benefit from adding a soundbar.

Cons:

Viewing Angles and Uniformity: Like many edge-lit LED TVs, picture quality can diminish at wide viewing angles, and some backlight uniformity issues may be noticeable in dark scenes.

No Advanced Local Dimming: While it performs well in most lighting conditions, it lacks the deep blacks of higher-end models with full-array local dimming.

Verdict: The TCL 85Q751G stands out as a top-tier value pick in the large-screen TV market. It balances size, picture quality, gaming readiness, and smart features effectively. Ideal for movie lovers, casual gamers, and families, it offers a premium viewing experience at a mid-range price. While it doesn't match flagship OLEDs in contrast or viewing angles, it delivers exceptional bang for the buck.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Best for: Budget-focused buyers wanting a big, bright, and feature-rich 4K TV.

The QM6k that RTINGs reviewed isn't the Costco Pro version, which has a screen similar or the same as the QM7k, which is better than the 85Q751G. Also, RTINGs reviewed the 85QM751G, not the 85Q751G. They are very different in performance, and the 85Q751G doesn't seem to hold a candle to the 85QM751G.

The Costco one might be be slightly less bright then the 85QM751G, but I'm not sure it's worth giving up the 5 year warranty, a year younger processor, $500 cheaper, and the fact you are buying it from Costco over Best Buy. I saw the 98 inch in the store today, and it looked phenomenal for a middle range TV.

This is kind of a hard decision, as there isn't really a great comparison available, especially since the model names of all of these are beyond confusing, but the costco QM6k PRO version is MUCH better than this TV.

This is the RTINGs review that is CLOSEST to this TV, which is the previous year's model and very similar:
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...q651g-qled
The best way to rank the current 5 entry-level to mid-range TCL TVs that have been on this site a lot recently, FROM WHAT I CAN DECIPHER, goes the following:

  1. QM7K
  2. QM751G (nearly tied with 1st)
  3. QM6K PRO (nearly tied with 2nd, and probably a much better deal for the cost)(essentially the top 3 need a 'photo finish' to compare them)
  4. QM6K (base version)
  5. Q751G (this TV)(pretty much hot garbage compared to the other models)
If I'm wrong, please let me know!

Rtings didn't review the "Q751G", because it doesn't exist. The TV you're thinking of is the Q750G, of which rtings most definitely did review. It was reviewed with their older rating system, though, so it and the QM6K aren't 100% directly comparable. Here's the comparison anyways: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...7972/88607

don't believe the Rtings reviews. I bought a 65" qm7 last December and many WhatsApp disappointment. I bought it mainly based on reviews. In the store they just had their ultra prepared demo vid. It sucked, I repeat SUCKED at upscaling. I watch TONS of 720p on Tubi, Frevee, Pluto etc. and believe me their is no magic miniled boost on those. Faces were grainy, image unclear, not sharp. I bought it after having a Samsung mu8500 for 7 years and honestly the Samsung killed it. I was used to clarity and the TCL didn't have it. Yes certain 4k hdr programs looked ok....but even those had issues. Sorry there is no Santa Claus and there are no cheap TVs that match Sony, Samsung, and LG. Yes they are loaded with features but picture quality, upscaling, and durability are major issues. Also, why donate money to an economy that's gearing up to kick our ass in war?

The Q751G most certainly exists, and it's the TV listed on this thread. Here is the TCL site for it:https://www.tcl.com/us/en/product...tv-85q751g

This TV isn't great

The TV I listed from RTINGs isn't the Q751G, but is the previous year's variant, which is nearly identical. The QM vs the Q models are VERY different TVs. This thread is not for the fantastic QM version, but the not so great Q version.
