For those starting out, any decent gym isn't going to let you spar in these. This is to protect both your opponent and yourself. These are pretty light for bags, too. Eventually you'll need a heavier pair.
If you're just starting out, you should ask a coach what they recommend. My gym recommends 16oz gloves to newbies. More weight just means more padding.

Several colors are $31.50 for 160z gloves, which is a decent price.

Good Uses for 10 oz Gloves

Competition:
These are standard weight for many amateur and professional matches, helping boxers get used to the feel of fighting gloves.
Light Pad Work:
Ideal for working with a coach on a mitts or pads, where a lighter glove allows for faster movements and better technique.
Bag Work:
Suitable for light bag training, especially for smaller or less experienced boxers, to develop speed and accuracy.
Heavy Bag Training (for smaller individuals):
Some sources suggest that 10 oz gloves can be used for heavy bags for smaller individuals, as they can help with technique and precision.
Training for Fight Feel:
Using 10 oz gloves in training helps prepare a boxer for a real fight, improving balance and adapting to the lighter weight.
Considerations and Limitations

Less Protection:
Compared to heavier gloves, 10 oz gloves provide less padding and cushioning, offering reduced protection for your hands and wrists during high-intensity sessions.
Not Ideal for Heavy Sparring:
Heavier gloves (12-16 oz) are recommended for sparring to ensure the safety of both the boxer and their training partner.
Not for High-Intensity Bag Work:
If you are a heavier fighter or train with high intensity, 10 oz gloves might not provide enough protection for extensive bag work and could lead to fatigue or injury.
In summary: A 10 oz glove is best for speed, accuracy, competition, and lighter training drills, but should be used with caution for intense bag work and not for sparring, where heavier gloves are safer.

He's right tho. Everything he said is true. If you were to use these on a heavy bag with full power or in sparring, someone gonna get hurt needlessly.

Learning how to wrap your hands WELL is exponentially more important than the savings on most gloves. As mentioned above, 16oz is the way to go for first pair. These Venus 10-oz will make a great SECOND set of gloves for someone who wants to drum on the double end/pony or water filled bags; have in the gym bag to work on something specific; or to donate to your local gym that has the standard torn/smelly/old "16oz" training gloves.

Had plenty of hand injuries with cheap light gloves. Never again.

These could be suitable for focus mitts or other lighter bags. Not bad pricing

10 ounce bags are perfectly fine for bag work. More glove weight doesn't always mean more padding. With cheap gloves, the weight ends up in areas that don't provide much more padding, and newer foams can provide better protection with less weight. You're correct about the sparring though.

Not true, bag gloves can be lighter. Lots of people here with very little boxing experience… go check out Rival gloves and get their take on glove weight if you would like to educate yourself.

Just to be clear there are better gloves in the 10 ounce range that are suitable for nearly any heavy bag use.

I use these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZDLM...e_0_0&th=1 no idea what OZ they are probably 2 or 3 oz. I know how to punch and the glove is just there to help keep the skin on my knuckles on my knuckles! If you know how to punch and keep your wrist aligned you don't necessarily need any gloves. I hit my heavy bag with no gloves often but I can't do that for a whole session just 5 minutes or so to help toughen up the skin. I forgot to mention it is a typical 100LB heavy bag filled with cloth and sand. It has a nylon bag wrap that has a burlap kind of texture l so it is hard on the hands without gloves. I just didn't want anyone reading to think it was some extra soft water bag or something it is a typical 100lb heavy bag.
