Almost bought. Many recent reviews state it breaks very quickly and easily.

I have owned two of the 2 person and one of the 4 person tents since 2021 and they're all holding up perfectly well. The steep sides are really nice. I can stand comfortably in the 4 person and I'm 6'2". Haven't had them leak at all, and we live in the PNW. All around great tent, honestly.

Now that's legit if it actually works (the dark room and heat rejection).

For its MSRP the quality is very reasonable. Many people enjoy Coleman tents for their value. If you want a better quality tent you should be looking at a $400+ price for a 4 person tent. Maybe even get a nice 6 person tent around $500-$600.

As someone on a budget, I ended up with a 6-person Skydome I bought for about $130 from the official Coleman website. Coleman is still having their end of season sale if anyone is interested in other choices.

I have the 6-person version. I've only used it twice (4 total nights) and it's worked fine. The Dark Room stuff works as advertised. In fact, I had trouble reading in the tent midday during a storm because it was so dark in the tent.

I have the 6P version. The dark part definitely works. It's quite dark inside, even during the middle of the day.

I can't comment on the heat rejection because I've only used it at fairly high altitudes in the woods, where heat rejection wasn't on my mind.

This is great to hear. We did get the 4 person instant coleman because it was too low. Got the 8 person so we can stand up comfortably. How do you like the near black out?

I just camped last week with some friends and one of them had this tent. I was impressed on how easy it was to setup. And you can stand in it.

Center height is only 4'8", so no normal person can stand in this. Maybe your buddy had the 6 or 8 person version.

This tent would be ideal for a couple and maybe a dog or a kid, but that is it, it is pretty small. Keep in mind the reviews are all sizes mixed in too.

I have learned the hard way camping over the years that anytime a tent says "N" number of people, I learned to divide it by half as the actual number it is meant to be super comfortable for...which means 2 people in this case.

Having said I ended up buying a 12 person tent which is my longest serving tent (at the moment) and guess what? it fits my entire family of 4 comfortably and also leaves me some room for my friends and family who from time to time join our family camping trips...we also have enough space for our bags, clothes, gear and other stuff.

You don't have to go as big as me but make sure you have room for at least 2 more people as some of these tents are super tiny and cramped.

I used a coleman at this year's burning man when wind speed hit about 80-100mph for 3 hours straight. The poles bent but never broke. Solid quality honestly speaking,. the fabric didn't break either
