Ring is still a great system but they recently double their subscription at $20/month. I'm slowly moving to eufy ecosystem. Not the best but it's good enough and cameras are much better clarity.

Does Eufy provide a similar service?

Yeah for $9.99/month or half the price of ring they offer professional monitoring and response. Personally never needed ring emergency response either so there isn't a baseline to say if eufy is better or worse than ring.

To clarify, these will work with any z-wave system: homeseer, hubitat, zooz, smart things, fibaro, homey, etc. Open-close sensors are standard fare.

$11.50/ea is a really good deal. If I hadn't discovered I had a couple spare door sensors already, I'd probably have bought this.

Z-wave 500 was the start of Z-Wave Plus. 700 was an improved variant that also tried too hard to be internet-cool. 800 is the newest gen and supports Long Range (Z-waveLR) variant.

The 1st gen sensors are probably z-wave 500, though the technical pdf doesnt seem to say (https://ring.com/support/articles...cal-Manual)

The 2nd gen contact sensors are supposed to support ZWaveLR, so 800 series ( https://ring.com/support/articles...cal-Manual)

I'm not 100% sure but from appearance these are 2nd gen sensors.

Interesting. Listing does said second gen. Great deal if 800.

I'd bet pairing this w. Home Assistant's new paper towel holder Z-Wave antenna would be sick.

ChatGPT looked up the FCC id and the chipset, etc and is pretty certain this is 700 series. So tempted!

I have about 15 of these with my ring system but also run a Z wave network. I believe they are 700 battery life is very long and they work great. I just realized I have a couple that I paired directly to Home Assistant for garage door sensors and they work great. There are a ton of configuration options in settings in Home Assistant as well.

Edit: Confirmed 700, zwave plus v2

These are the new version, yes, gen2, but there are multiple iterations of gen 2. This one is wave 800 LR. Picked them up today and paired well with HA. Great deal, use Discover for additional 5% back.
