The go-to glove weight for the gym is 16oz and it seems those are available at the same price. If that wasn't the case and/or you find yourself in need of some gloves, these could hold you over for a bit at not too steep of a cost. Quality hand wraps and a decent know-how are as important.
…Sparring in 14oz gloves is far from advised.
If you're over 175 lbs, 16 oz. is a good size for all around use. If you're under 175 lbs., go with the 14 oz. Check the Venom website for deals because they are all the time having sales.

Sample review on reddit:
"I bought the Venum challenger 2.0 back in 2016. Would not buy again. Here are some cons of the glove:
-The opening slit starts at the wrist. Which means it gets pretty hot.
-4 tiny holes at the mid of your palm, and 5 tiny holes on the underside of thumb. Needs better ventilation.
-The mesh on the underside of the glove is on TOP of the leather. It's not mesh that provides ventilation, instead it's for gripping in Muay Thai during clinch. But all of your clinch practicing partners will hate you cause it will feel rough on their neck and head.
-The structure of the glove is very stiff. This can either be love or hate, because while it adds hand&wrist support from the glove, it won't feel like a glove that's completely molded to your hand and also you will feel the stiff structure on the underside of the foam of the glove that feels slightly uncomfortable on your knuckles and top of your hand.
-The foam feels mid or high density. This means it should be used more for bag work and mitt work instead of sparring.
-Lastly, I feel foolish because I realized this after purchasing it, is that the glove is made in China and it's only DESIGNED in Thailand. I bought it thinking it was made in Thailand and imagine my disappointment when I read the label made in China"
