dredge caps alone make great cheap spacers when you store food in containers. the cap (hole side up, rim side down) helps keep the water that accumulates at the bottom away from the food you are storing.

LOL... you can also use the dredge itself to portion control snacking.
so instead of sitting with a big bag of pretzel nuts,
dredge full a portion of them,
then put the bag away
and snack on what's in the dredge, guilt free...

Flavacol's no bigger than salt so you should be fine.
I'd be concerned that these aren't airtight - so any humidity would cause clumping in anything with salt or sugar in it (BBQ rubs in particular), not to mention spices going stale faster. I think it's more ideal for a foodservice container where the turnover rate means spoilage isn't as big an issue.

Just make sure whatever you put in here you use fairly quickly as it isn't close to being airtight.
