There are several posts in the old threads (some of which are mine) about the coil whine issue on this model with the 370. I went through three units that all had severe coil whine when on AC power. Some people may not be bothered by it but it was enough for me to unfortunately have to avoid this model.

Which remedies did you attempt for the coil whine? Any that were partially effective?

Someone on reddit posted a command that prevents the a lower power state, it didn't work for me.

Turning on the keyboard backlight reduces the noise but it's still noticeable. One of the units was quieter than the others but it's not something I wanted to have to listen to on a $1500 laptop. I would describe it as ultrasonic old floppy drive with random capacitor crackles and pops.

It's a known issue, most reviews mention it. It's possible I just had bad luck. I will be waiting for the Intel G6 that should be out very soon, I'm hoping for a Black Friday deal on that.

This model has very poor battery life. Intel\Qualcomm\Apple laptop are 12-18 hours of battery life for normal usage. This laptop average around 8 hours just doing light browsing and office usage.
