great price on De Buyer. These guys never go on sale. I ordered one to see exactly what it is since the website is vague on description. I've attached a photo of the pan. I went back and ordered 3 more for xmas gifts.

If I hadn't just ordered some Yamada hammered steel frying pans from Japan, I would have spring for this! (But who knows if I'll get them with the weird paperwork issues importing anything right now.)

They often call them iron instead of carbon steel. These are around 99% iron whereas cast iron is around 97% iron.
