Free every 365 days with qualifying Visa card. Infinite cards get 3 Gigs of data. Signature cards get 1 Gig.
You can load the ESIMM onto your phone now and activate it when you get to the country you're visiting.
It seems to work and most countries you'd want to visit and was easy to load and activate.
Chase Sapphire Reserve is one of the Infinite cards, but I never saw this listed in their benefits.

Excellent. Trying to figure out if I can grab the eSIM now but save it until I travel in early 2026. Or once redeemed if the clock starts ticking.

Supposedly it will not start until you turn it on in your cellular settings. I'll know for sure when I'm overseas next month.I'm also curious when the 365 day renewal starts. "Purchase," activation, or when the SIMM runs out. But it should save me almost $200 in AT&T charges.

you have 365 to activate. decent freebie. but i would never use this company. their 'unlimited*' plans around 50$ a month, are actually just 2.5gb of data per day. hard pass.

Interesting. All three of my family have VX so that should qualify. OTOH, 3GB is pretty trivial most places. For ex, LycaUK gives you a month, 30GB UK/12GB EU, unlimited SMS, and 100 minutes for £5. I haven't been to SEA in a couple year, but I presume local sims are dirt cheap there, too. I suppose this is a good option if you have a free eSim slot and need some data when you land until you can activate local.

Also, if you're planning on using GPS navigation while abroad, make sure you have a lot of data. I think I burned 1GB/day or more just driving around. Found out on the 4th day when my map just ended as we were driving across the countryside. And with no data I couldn't buy an extension. Luckily I always have the local region downloaded in OrganicMaps as a backup, but turn-by-turn isn't nearly as good as Waze/Google/Apple.
