Pretty good price given the rising prices of everything. I think I got a Player version Tele in LPB from Adorama a few years ago for $520.

Changed the bridge, added compensated saddles, pickguard (to mother of toilet seat) and locking tuners.

Dang.. bought the Tele last week at the $599 sale price. Just shipped yesterday. Anyone here know if it's worth reaching out to them to see about a $50 refund..?

Oh man I was planning on getting the new generation Sire T7 that's coming out next month to be my first Telecaster but this Player II is a price where I'd be stupid not to buy one, even if I don't need a second blue guitar. Someone talk me out of getting this instead of the new white Sire T7!

If the Sire is what you want, then get it. Don't pay attention to the price of this one—you should buy the guitar, not the price.

Now, if you're not sure you want a Tele and you want to try one out and have pretty good resale value, this Player II is a better pick than the Sire.

Personally I'd start with the Telecaster which at this level would be an amazing first guitar that's good enough to keep for a lifetime.

I know what you're probably getting at (a guitar without a tremolo is typically a better starter guitar), but I would go with the strat in this circumstance because I believe the player II teles have a slab body (no cutout for your wrist or your belly). Wouldn't be good sit-down guitars

I have a Squier JM Jazzmaster coming. Should I order this one instead? Or both?

The strat is a more versatile guitar than a tele, and I have 3 teles, but I have 5 strats. The pickup configurations give the strat an edge, along with (as mentioned) the body shape. Sitting down while playing a tele is kinda painful. BUT, guitars are such a personal choice, and the heart wants what the heart wants.

adorama puts these on sale pretty often, I got the strat maybe 2 years ago, and it's a fantastic guitar. Great value at 550. I'd consider jumping on the tele if it wasn't the same color 😅

Excellent price! This is what I paid for my Player 1 about 3 years ago. This has an upgrades like rounded fretboard edges and better tuners
